Overview

EB1003 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody candidate of ipilimumab, developed by Eden Biologics (formerly JHL Biotech). It is a recombinant human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4 (CTLA-4), a checkpoint molecule that down-regulates T-cell activation. By binding to CTLA-4, EB1003 blocks its interaction with ligands (CD80/CD86) on antigen-presenting cells, thereby maintaining T-cell activation and enhancing the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate tumor cells. The drug is primarily being developed for the treatment of late-stage (metastatic) melanoma and is currently in early-stage clinical development.
