EB103 + oncolytic virus is a preclinical combination therapy being developed by Estrella Immunopharma in partnership with Imugene for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapy combines EB103, an autologous CD19-targeted ARTEMIS T-cell therapy, with Imugene's onCARlytics (CF33-CD19), an oncolytic virus. The mechanism of action involves the oncolytic virus infecting solid tumor cells and inducing them to express the CD19 protein on their surface, a process often referred to as "painting" the tumor. Once the tumor cells express CD19, the EB103 ARTEMIS T-cells can recognize and eliminate them. The ARTEMIS T-cell platform, licensed from Eureka Therapeutics, is designed to activate T-cells through a mechanism that mimics the natural T-cell receptor, potentially offering improved safety and efficacy compared to traditional CAR-T therapies. This combination approach aims to extend the success of CD19-targeted therapies from hematological malignancies to a broad range of solid tumors.
