EBA-CCR9

EBA-CCR9 (External Benchmark Antibody–CCR9) is a clinically advanced monoclonal antibody used as a reference benchmark in studies evaluating novel therapies for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It specifically targets the C-C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9), a key regulator of lymphocyte trafficking to the gut. By binding to CCR9, the antibody aims to inhibit the migration of pro-inflammatory T cells into the intestinal lamina propria, thereby reducing mucosal inflammation. In comparative studies, EBA-CCR9 has been characterized as a ligand-blocking antibody that depletes CD4+ CCR9+ T cells, although it has shown lower potency and efficacy in ex vivo patient-derived models compared to newer candidates like SRB5.
