Overview

EBL-1463 is an intravenous, first-in-class antibacterial from the dabocin family, a novel group of non-beta-lactam diazabicyclooctane derivatives that inhibit penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) to block bacterial cell-wall synthesis and kill Gram-negative pathogens, including carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales.[4][5][8][10] Developed initially by Mutabilis and now advanced by Tamrisa with support from initiatives such as ENABLE and CARB-X, EBL-1463 is designed to retain potent PBP-mediated bactericidal activity while exhibiting exceptional stability to class A, B, C, and D beta-lactamases, targeting serious multidrug-resistant infections for which current treatment options are limited.[4][5][8][9][10]
