Overview

EBNK-001 is an investigational allogeneic natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors. This specific combination regimen involves the administration of EBNK-001 following lymphodepletion with cyclophosphamide and fludarabine, supported by low-dose interleukin-15 (IL-15) to enhance NK cell survival, expansion, and anti-tumor activity. The regimen also includes pembrolizumab (Keytruda), a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. By blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, pembrolizumab aims to prevent immune evasion and synergize with the NK cells to mount a more robust anti-tumor response. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial to determine safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with various solid malignancies.
