Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This Ebola virus vaccine candidate was developed by a public-private consortium including the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UM SOM), Paragon Bioservices, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and GSK in response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak. It utilizes a recombinant adenovirus platform to express an Ebola virus glycoprotein, aiming to induce an immune response against the virus. The vaccine entered Phase 1 clinical trials in the U.S., UK, and West Africa in late 2014.
