Ebracteolata Hayata extract is a botanical preparation derived from the roots of *Euphorbia ebracteolata* Hayata, a plant species utilized in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) under the name Langdu. This specific extract is being investigated as the active pharmaceutical ingredient in a novel transdermal delivery system—a liposome nanofiber patch—designed for the treatment of actinic keratosis (AK). The extract contains a variety of bioactive secondary metabolites, including diterpenoids (such as jolkinolides) and acetophenones, which are reported to possess anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. In the context of actinic keratosis, the extract is intended to induce cell death in dysplastic keratinocytes. The liposome nanofiber formulation is employed to enhance the solubility, stability, and skin penetration of the hydrophobic components within the extract, potentially improving therapeutic efficacy while minimizing systemic exposure.
