Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**EBS-LASV** is a monovalent, live-attenuated recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus vaccine candidate for prevention of Lassa fever. It uses the VesiculoVax platform and encodes the Lassa virus surface glycoprotein complex, with attenuation engineered through VSV nucleoprotein gene shuffling and deletion of the native VSV glycoprotein gene. The vaccine is intended to induce protective immune responses, including neutralizing antibodies, against Lassa virus glycoprotein. The program originated at Profectus BioSciences, was subsequently advanced by Emergent BioSolutions with CEPI support, and has entered Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy adults in Ghana.
