EBT-002 is a preclinical biological therapeutic developed by Ernest Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, such as liver cancer. It utilizes the company's proprietary Bacterial Intracellular Delivery (BacID) vector platform. This bacterial therapy is designed to specifically target tumor cells and deliver a biological payload that activates caspase-3, an key enzyme in the apoptotic (cell death) pathway. The intended mechanism is to induce apoptosis in cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
