EBT-305 is a preclinical bacterial immunotherapy being developed by Ernest Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of pancreatic cancer and other immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-resistant solid tumors. The therapy utilizes the proprietary BacID (Ernest Bacterial Vector or EBV) platform, which employs genetically engineered Salmonella bacteria designed to selectively home to and colonize the hypoxic core of solid tumors. Once inside the tumor microenvironment, the bacteria invade cancer cells and deliver therapeutic payloads directly into the cytoplasm to trigger a localized anti-tumor immune response. This approach aims to overcome the immunosuppressive nature of the tumor microenvironment while sparing healthy tissues.
