EBT-407 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed by Ernest Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of solid tumors. It utilizes the company's proprietary BacID (Bacterial Intracellular Delivery) platform, which employs engineered, non-pathogenic bacteria to selectively colonize the hypoxic and immunosuppressive environment of solid tumors. Once localized within the tumor, the bacterial vector delivers an oncolytic virus payload. This approach is designed to overcome the delivery challenges of traditional viral therapies by using the bacteria's natural tumor-homing capabilities to transport the virus directly to the cancer cells. The oncolytic virus then replicates within and lyses the tumor cells, while also stimulating a localized anti-tumor immune response.
