Overview

The EBV immunological agent is an investigational adoptive cell therapy consisting of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Developed by West China Hospital, this therapeutic agent is designed to target and eliminate cells infected with EBV by recognizing specific viral antigens presented on the cell surface. It is primarily being developed for the treatment of EBV-associated lymphoproliferative diseases (EBV-LPD), including chronic active Epstein-Barr virus (CAEBV) infection and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD). In clinical trial settings, the agent is evaluated as a monotherapy or in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors like toripalimab to enhance the anti-viral and anti-tumor immune response by overcoming T-cell exhaustion.
