Overview

EBV-specific immune effector cells is an adoptive cell therapy developed by Vectorite Biomedica for the treatment and prevention of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated lymphoproliferative disorders. The therapy consists of autologous or donor-derived CD4+ and CD8+ T cells that are expanded ex vivo using a protein-spanning pool of pentadecapeptides derived from the EBV latent membrane protein 2A (LMP2A). These cells are selected based on activation markers such as IFN-γ or CD137 and stimulated with dendritic cells to enhance their specificity and potency. Once infused, these effector cells target and eliminate EBV-infected cells expressing viral antigens, particularly in the context of post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD).
