Overview

EBV-TCR-T cell injection is an investigational adoptive cell therapy composed of T lymphocytes genetically engineered to express T-cell receptors (TCRs) specific for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antigens. Developed as an investigator-initiated therapy by Daihong Liu, it is primarily intended for patients with EBV DNAemia following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). The therapy works by utilizing the engineered TCRs to recognize EBV peptides presented on the surface of infected cells, leading to targeted T-cell activation and the subsequent elimination of the virus-infected cells. This approach aims to restore viral-specific immunity and prevent the development of EBV-associated lymphoproliferative disorders, which are serious complications in immunocompromised post-transplant patients.
