Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EC-303 is a novel mitochondria-targeted small molecule prodrug being developed by Eclipse Life Sciences for the treatment of Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (Dry AMD). The drug is formulated for intravitreal administration using a proprietary multiphasic colloidal suspension-drug delivery system, which enables extended-release delivery to the back of the eye. EC-303 is designed to act on mitochondrial function to provide anti-degenerative and neuroprotective effects in the retina, aiming to preserve vision in patients with progressive retinal diseases. It is currently in the preclinical stage, specifically undergoing IND-enabling studies.
