Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EC-X1 is an experimental Degrader Antibody Conjugate (DAC) currently in preclinical development by Enzychem Lifesciences. This therapeutic modality represents a novel class of targeted protein degraders (TPD) that combines the high specificity of monoclonal antibodies with the potent protein-degradation capabilities of payloads such as PROTACs or molecular glues. By conjugating a degrader payload to an antibody, EC-X1 is designed to selectively internalize into target cells and induce the proteasomal degradation of specific pathogenic proteins. This approach aims to expand the druggable proteome by targeting intracellular proteins that are difficult to inhibit with traditional small-molecule occupancy-based inhibitors or to overcome resistance mechanisms in oncology and other therapeutic areas.
