Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EC-X2 is a preclinical-stage proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) being developed by Enzychem Lifesciences (also referred to as Engichem Life Sciences). As a PROTAC, the molecule is designed to selectively degrade a specific target protein by hijacking the cell's natural ubiquitin-proteasome system. It typically consists of two ligands—one binding the target protein and the other binding an E3 ubiquitin ligase—connected by a chemical linker. This formation of a ternary complex leads to the ubiquitination of the target protein and its subsequent degradation by the 26S proteasome. While Enzychem Lifesciences has disclosed EC-X2 as a key part of its targeted protein degradation (TPD) pipeline, the specific molecular target and therapeutic indications for this candidate have not yet been publicly specified.
