Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ec1-LoPE is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of the epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM)-targeting designed ankyrin repeat protein (DARPin) Ec1 fused to a low-immunogenicity variant of Pseudomonas exotoxin A (LoPE). It is designed to selectively bind to EpCAM-expressing cancer cells, undergo receptor-mediated endocytosis, and deliver the cytotoxic toxin payload to inhibit protein synthesis and induce cell death. Ec1-LoPE has been investigated in preclinical studies for the treatment of various EpCAM-expressing malignancies, including ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer, both as a monotherapy and in combination with other targeted therapies such as trastuzumab or seribantumab.
