EC2629

EC2629 is a folate receptor (FR)-targeted small molecule drug conjugate (SMDC) consisting of a folate ligand conjugated to a potent DNA-alkylating moiety. Developed by Endocyte, the agent is designed to selectively deliver a DNA crosslinking payload to cancer cells overexpressing the folate receptor, a target frequently found in ovarian, endometrial, and triple-negative breast cancers. In preclinical studies, EC2629 demonstrated high potency—approximately 100-fold greater than earlier folate-targeted conjugates—and achieved complete responses in various human xenograft models, including those resistant to standard-of-care treatments like paclitaxel and cisplatin.
