ECC0509

ECC0509 is an orally administered small molecule inhibitor of semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO), also known as vascular adhesion protein-1 (VAP-1). It is being developed by Eccogene for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH, formerly known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis or NASH) and has also been studied for musculoskeletal pain. Preclinical studies demonstrated that ECC0509 is a potent, highly selective, and peripherally distributed SSAO inhibitor with minimal inhibition of brain AO3. In clinical trials, it showed a favorable safety and tolerability profile with almost complete inhibition of plasma SSAO activity at low doses. No serious adverse events related to the drug were reported in Phase 1 studies[1][3][5][7].
