Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ECI-NPs** are an experimental carrier-free multifunctional nanoparticle system generated through oxidative coupling of epigallocatechin gallate oligomers, curcumin, and indocyanine green. The nano-integrated construct was reported by researchers at the Public Health Clinical Center of Chengdu and Sichuan University as an in vitro antitumor and antibacterial platform. It improves the stability, cellular uptake, and controlled release of its constituent active compounds and enhances light-mediated photodynamic and photothermal cytotoxicity in melanoma cells, while also showing antibacterial activity against *Escherichia coli* and *Staphylococcus aureus*. ECI-NPs have not been reported as a clinical-stage or marketed therapeutic product.
