Overview

eCIRP-neutralizing antibody is a polyclonal biologic therapeutic, typically raised in rabbits, designed to neutralize extracellular cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (eCIRP). eCIRP is a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) protein released during cellular stress or injury, which triggers inflammatory responses by binding to receptors such as the TLR4/MD2 complex, TREM-1, and IL-6R. By blocking these pro-inflammatory signaling pathways, the antibody reduces the production of cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6, attenuates neutrophil infiltration, and mitigates organ injury. Preclinical research has demonstrated its efficacy in animal models of sepsis, hemorrhagic shock, hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury, and necrotizing enterocolitis, though it currently remains a research tool without a commercial developer or clinical status.
