Overview

**ECMPS-IEM** is an investigational digital-medicine configuration evaluated in adult kidney-transplant recipients. It combines 360 mg enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium, the active ingredient formulation used in Myfortic, with a Proteus ingestible event marker and wearable monitoring system to document medication ingestion and support adherence monitoring. The pharmacologically active component releases mycophenolic acid in the intestine; mycophenolic acid reversibly and uncompetitively inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, suppressing de novo guanosine-nucleotide synthesis and thereby limiting proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The ingestible sensor is a monitoring component and does not provide a separate therapeutic active ingredient. ([ichgcp.net](https://ichgcp.net/clinical-trials-registry/NCT01320358))
