ECMT-100 is a biologic-derived hydrogel medical device developed by ECM Therapeutics for tissue regeneration and wound management. Composed of a naturally occurring scaffold of proteins and molecules derived from complete extracellular matrix (ECM), the product is processed into a flowable hydrogel form. It was developed based on technology from Dr. Stephen F. Badylak's lab at the University of Pittsburgh. ECMT-100 received FDA Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approval in May 2025 for the treatment of anorectal fistulas and a variant, ECMT-100 WMD, received 510(k) clearance in June 2026 for general wound management. The product functions by promoting tissue regeneration and healing through the modulation of the extracellular matrix microenvironment.
