Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ECMT-154 is a topical emollient cream containing 2% mānuka oil, an extract derived from the New Zealand mānuka tree (*Leptospermum scoparium*). Developed by Manuka Bioscience, it is being investigated as a steroid-sparing therapeutic option for the treatment of moderate-to-severe eczema (atopic dermatitis). The product leverages the natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of mānuka oil to reduce skin inflammation and manage the skin microbiome. It has been evaluated in multicentre randomized controlled trials in both adult and pediatric populations (ages 2–12) in New Zealand.
