Overview
Ecohair is a topical botanical hair growth treatment formulated from a combination of extracts of *Coffea arabica* (coffee) and *Larrea divaricata* (Jarilla). Developed in Argentina through a public-private partnership between the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and Laboratorio Garré Guevara, it is used to treat various forms of noncicatricial hair loss, including androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. The product is also marketed for enhancing the thickness and growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. Its mechanism of action is attributed to the synergistic antioxidant and stimulating properties of its botanical components, which aim to increase hair volume and reduce hair loss without the systemic side effects typically associated with synthetic hair growth drugs. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia.
