Overview
Ecologic® Barrier is a multi-strain probiotic dietary supplement developed by Winclove Probiotics. It is a specific formulation of nine bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium bifidum* W23, *Bifidobacterium lactis* W51, *Bifidobacterium lactis* W52, *Lactobacillus acidophilus* W37, *Levilactobacillus brevis* W63, *Lacticaseibacillus casei* W56, *Ligilactobacillus salivarius* W24, *Lactococcus lactis* W19, and *Lactococcus lactis* W58. The product is designed to modulate the gut microbiome to improve intestinal barrier function and reduce systemic low-grade inflammation. By altering the gut microbiota's function, it is hypothesized to decrease circulating lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels, thereby favorably impacting cardiometabolic health, liver function, and the gut-brain axis. It has been clinically studied for various conditions, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, metformin intolerance, migraine, and mood disorders.
