Overview

Ecologic Femi+ (EF+) is a multi-strain vaginal probiotic capsule developed to restore and maintain a healthy, Lactobacillus-dominated vaginal microbiota. Manufactured by Winclove Probiotics, it contains a specific blend of lyophilized lactic acid-producing bacteria, including multiple Lactobacillus species and one Bifidobacterium species. The product is primarily indicated for the prevention of bacterial vaginosis (BV) recurrence by suppressing the overgrowth of BV-associated anaerobic bacteria and lowering vaginal pH. It has been evaluated in clinical trials, notably a pilot study in Rwanda led by Janneke van de Wijgert, where it demonstrated safety and preliminary efficacy in reducing BV incidence among high-risk women following standard antibiotic treatment.
