Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EcoVax is a multivalent, inactivated whole-cell bacterial vaccine developed by Vaxdyn. It is engineered to provide protective immunity against infections caused by Extraintestinal Pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC) and Acinetobacter baumannii. The vaccine utilizes a proprietary LPS-null (endotoxin-free) whole-cell formulation, which enables the presentation of a broad repertoire of native bacterial surface antigens while eliminating the systemic toxicity associated with lipopolysaccharides (endotoxins) typically found in Gram-negative bacteria. EcoVax is currently in the lead optimization stage, targeting the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and other conditions caused by these multidrug-resistant pathogens.
