ECT204 is an autologous T-cell immunotherapy in which a patient's own T cells are genetically engineered ex vivo to express a proprietary ARTEMIS® antibody-T cell receptor that specifically targets glypican-3 (GPC3), a tumor-associated antigen commonly overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). These modified T cells are reintroduced into the patient, where they recognize and induce cytotoxicity against GPC3-positive tumor cells. ECT204 is being developed by Eureka Therapeutics and is currently under investigation for the treatment of adults with advanced, unresectable or metastatic GPC3-positive HCC who have failed or are intolerant to at least two prior systemic therapies. The therapy represents an approach related to CAR-T cell therapy, using an antibody-based antigen-binding domain and an effector domain to direct targeted immune cell-mediated killing of cancer cells[2][3][4][5][7][11].
