Drug intelligence / Profile preview
eCyDerm001 is a preclinical-stage engineered exosome candidate developed by RION, designed as a delivery platform for nucleic acid therapeutics. It utilizes RION's proprietary PEP™ (Platelet Exosome Product) technology, which consists of exosomes naturally derived from human platelets. Unlike standard PEP™ products used for regenerative medicine, eCyDerm001 is specifically engineered to encapsulate and deliver messenger RNA (mRNA) or small interfering RNA (siRNA) directly into cells. This approach leverages the innate ability of exosomes to cross biological barriers and protect their cargo from degradation, aiming to modulate gene expression for various therapeutic applications. The platform represents a specialized branch of RION's exosome drug delivery pipeline, focusing on the precise intracellular delivery of genetic material.
