Overview

EDDC-2214 is an oral small molecule peptidomimetic that acts as a potent inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 3-chymotrypsin-like (3CL) protease. Developed initially by the Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) in Singapore and later licensed to Everest Medicines, the drug is designed as an antiviral therapy for COVID-19. It has demonstrated broad-spectrum activity against various SARS-CoV-2 variants and other coronaviruses, such as MERS-CoV, in preclinical studies. The compound is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
