Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EDG-4131 is a selective, orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of fast skeletal muscle myosin (specifically fast skeletal myosin II) originally developed by Edgewise Therapeutics and subsequently acquired by Servier in 2026. It is designed to protect skeletal muscle from contraction-induced mechanical stress and injury, and to reduce downstream inflammatory signaling. In preclinical models, EDG-4131 has demonstrated efficacy in improving muscle pathophysiology and molecular pathology in Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) models, as well as restoring muscle performance in models of nemaline myopathy type 6 (NEM6).
