Overview

EDL81 (also known as Acetyl-EDL67) is a synthetic heptapeptide developed by **Endolipid Therapeutics**, a spin-off from the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). The compound is designed to mimic the lipolytic and anti-lipogenic functions of the human **Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)** protein, specifically targeting the reduction of ectopic fat without the steroid-binding properties of the native hormone. EDL81 promotes lipolysis in mature adipocytes and inhibits adipogenesis by modulating the SHBG pathway and downregulating the expression of **PPAR-gamma**. Developed in collaboration with **Nanovex Biotechnologies**, EDL81 utilizes a specialized liposomal encapsulation technology (Deep Delivery System) to enhance topical penetration and protect the peptide from degradation. It is primarily positioned for the dermocosmetic treatment of **cellulite** and localized fat accumulation.
