Overview

EDO-1-124 is a small molecule 4-aminopyrimidine derivative and symmetric analog of the compound A9. Developed by researchers at Georgetown University, it acts as a BRCA1-mimetic drug designed for the treatment of breast cancer. EDO-1-124 binds to a BRCA1-binding pocket within estrogen receptor-alpha (ERα), mimicking the tumor suppressor function of BRCA1 to inhibit ERα activity, block estrogen-stimulated gene expression, and prevent cancer cell proliferation.
