Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Edodekin alfa (LIB-101, HemaMax) is a recombinant human interleukin-12 (rHuIL-12) cytokine immunotherapy originally developed by Neumedicines, subsequently acquired by Karyopharm Therapeutics, and licensed to Libo Pharma for development in specific territories. As a heterodimeric cytokine composed of p35 and p40 subunits, edodekin alfa acts as a potent immunomodulator that stimulates both innate and adaptive immune responses, as well as hematopoiesis. It binds to the interleukin-12 receptor, promoting the proliferation and activation of T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells, and inducing the secretion of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). Edodekin alfa is being developed for the treatment of hematologic malignancies, including cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and as a medical countermeasure for hematopoietic syndrome of acute radiation syndrome (HSARS).
