Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EDP125 is a novel, non-stimulant small molecule drug candidate developed by Suzhou Xikero Pharmaceutical for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It functions as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI), a mechanism that aims to increase the concentration of norepinephrine in the synaptic cleft, particularly within the prefrontal cortex. This increase in neurotransmitter availability is thought to improve executive functions such as attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity. Unlike traditional stimulant medications, EDP125 is designed to offer a therapeutic effect with a lower potential for abuse and a distinct side-effect profile. The compound is currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical evaluation in adult patients with ADHD in China.
