Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EDP1908 is an investigational, orally delivered extracellular vesicle-based therapeutic being developed by Evelo Biosciences for the treatment of cancer. [1, 5] It is designed to act locally on the small intestinal axis (SINTAX) to stimulate a systemic anti-tumor immune response without being absorbed into the rest of the body. [1, 5, 9] Preclinical studies have shown that EDP1908 can activate immune cells such as lymphocytes and dendritic cells within the tumor microenvironment. [1, 5] In December 2020, Evelo prioritized EDP1908 as its lead oncology candidate over a previous candidate, EDP1503, due to superior preclinical activity. [1]
