Overview

EEV vaccine is a preclinical-stage, viral-vectored prophylactic vaccine being developed by Auro Vaccines (formerly Profectus BioSciences) to protect against encephalitic disease caused by Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV), Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV), and Western equine encephalitis virus (WEEV). The vaccine utilizes the proprietary VesiculoVax platform, which employs attenuated, replication-competent recombinant vesiculoviruses (such as vesicular stomatitis virus [rVSV] or Isfahan virus [rISFV]) engineered to express the surface glycoproteins of the target alphaviruses. This approach is designed to stimulate rapid and protective humoral and cellular immune responses against these mosquito-borne biothreat agents.
