Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EF-031 is an investigational oral small molecule drug being developed by Everfront Biotech for the treatment of solid tumors, including brain tumors and pancreatic cancer. Formulated as a softgel capsule, EF-031 is designed to cross the blood-brain barrier to target cancer cells and cancer stem cells within the central nervous system. It acts as a multi-target inhibitor of DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1), mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR), programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1), tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO (Axl), and the CD44 intracellular domain (CD44ICD). By modulating these pathways, EF-031 aims to reduce chemotherapy resistance and enhance anti-tumor immune responses by converting "cold" tumors into "hot" tumors. It is intended to serve as a systemic therapy that can complement localized treatments like the Cerebraca Wafer.
