Overview

EF-2 Peptide Vaccine is an immunostimulant drug initially developed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for the treatment of neoplasms. It is a peptide-based vaccine that utilizes peptides derived from eukaryotic elongation factor 2 (eEF2). These eEF2-derived peptides are designed to bind to human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules, specifically HLA-A*0201, on the surface of cancer cells. This presentation of the peptide by HLA molecules is intended to stimulate an immune response against the cancer cells. The drug has been investigated for its potential in treating various cancers, including recurrent pediatric sarcomas.
