Overview

A combination of **efalizumab** (a monoclonal antibody targeting CD11a, which inhibits T-cell activation and migration), **mycophenolate mofetil** (a reversible inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, suppressing T and B lymphocyte proliferation), and **corticosteroids** (which suppress multiple inflammatory pathways through glucocorticoid receptor agonism). This combination is intended as a potent immunosuppressive regimen. While mycophenolate mofetil and corticosteroids are commonly combined for immune suppression in transplantation and autoimmune disease, the addition of efalizumab is uncommon, potentially experimental, and would confer additional T-cell suppression. Efalizumab had been indicated for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis but was withdrawn from the market due to safety concerns (notably, risk of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy). The combined use as a specific therapy lacks established clinical guidelines or regulatory approval and may have been used experimentally for severe immune-mediated or transplant-related indications.
