Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Effaclar Duo (+) is a topical dermatological treatment developed for acne-prone and oily skin, formulated by La Roche-Posay. It is designed to reduce the number and severity of acne blemishes, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and post-acne marks. The product features a combination of active ingredients including niacinamide (anti-inflammatory and brightening), zinc PCA (sebum regulation), salicylic acid (exfoliant), capryloyl salicylic acid/LHA (gentle exfoliation and pore unclogging), piroctone olamine (antibacterial action), glycerin (hydration), silica (oil absorption/matte effect) and other emollients. Unlike some regional variants containing benzoyl peroxide[1], the standard international/EU/Asia version does not contain benzoyl peroxide but relies on its blend of anti-inflammatory, keratolytic/exfoliating, sebum-regulating, antibacterial, hydrating and soothing agents to treat existing blemishes while preventing new ones from forming[2][3][6][7][8].
