Overview

Efineptakin alfa is a long-acting recombinant human interleukin-7 (IL-7) fusion protein engineered by fusing IL-7 to a hybrid Fc (hyFc) region of a human antibody. This design increases its stability and half-life compared to endogenous IL-7. Efineptakin alfa acts as an immunotherapy by promoting T-cell development and proliferation, thereby enhancing immune responses against cancer and other diseases characterized by T-cell deficiency. It is being developed for use in oncology (including solid tumors such as pancreatic cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, triple-negative breast cancer), immunology (such as idiopathic CD4 lymphocytopenia), and infectious diseases (including COVID-19). The drug is administered via intramuscular injection or mucosal delivery routes.
