Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EG-501 is an oral, low-affinity NMDA receptor antagonist developed by Evergreen Therapeutics for the treatment of cognitive impairment in patients with neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE). Developed using AI technology, the drug aims to address the "brain fog" and cognitive dysfunction associated with lupus, which currently has no FDA-approved therapies. In clinical studies, EG-501 has shown significant improvement in RBANS total scores compared to placebo, demonstrating efficacy in restoring cognitive function. It targets the NMDA receptor, with specific insights gained into the role of the GRIN2A subunit in neurological and immunological diseases.
