EG-MCV4

EG-MCV4 is an investigational quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (often referred to as an MCV4 or MenACWY vaccine) being evaluated for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W, and Y. In a phase 3 clinical trial in healthy adults, EG-MCV4 is administered intramuscularly at doses of 0.25 mL or 0.5 mL and compared with Menveo, a licensed MenACWY-CRM conjugate vaccine, to assess immunogenicity and safety. Like other MenACWY conjugate vaccines, EG-MCV4 is expected to work by inducing functional serum bactericidal antibodies against capsular polysaccharides of the four meningococcal serogroups through conjugation to a carrier protein, though detailed composition and carrier protein have not yet been publicly characterized.
