EGFR mCAR T cells are murine chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells designed to target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). These cells are engineered using a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) derived from the monoclonal antibody cetuximab, which allows them to recognize and bind to EGFR on the surface of tumor cells. In preclinical research, particularly syngeneic mouse models like B16 melanoma, these cells are used to study the efficacy of adoptive cell therapy in solid tumors. The therapeutic approach often involves combining these CAR T cells with chemotherapy agents such as dacarbazine (DTIC) and lymphodepleting pre-conditioning with cyclophosphamide (CPA) to enhance tumor control and overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.
