Overview

EGFRvIII-targeted CAR-T cells is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), a tumor-specific mutation frequently expressed in glioblastoma and other advanced gliomas. Developed by Wuhan General Hospital of Guangzhou Command in collaboration with Shanghai GeneChem, the therapy is administered via vascular interventional therapy (intra-arterial infusion) to bypass the blood-brain barrier and enhance local delivery to the brain tumor site. It has been evaluated in a Phase 1 pilot study in China for the treatment of advanced EGFRvIII-positive brain glioma.
