Overview

EGFRxCD3 BiTE is a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) designed to simultaneously target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on tumor cells and the CD3 receptor on T lymphocytes. This dual binding physically bridges T cells to EGFR-expressing cancer cells, forming an artificial cytolytic synapse. This interaction triggers T-cell activation, proliferation, and the release of perforin and granzymes, leading to the directed lysis of the target tumor cells. EGFRxCD3 BiTEs are widely investigated in preclinical research, including in humanized mouse models, to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity (such as cytokine release syndrome) of T-cell-redirecting therapies in solid tumors.
