EGL-003

EGL-003 is a novel investigational therapy developed by Egle Therapeutics for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer. It is an optimized interleukin-2 (IL-2) mutein fused to an Fc fragment, designed to selectively expand and activate regulatory T cells (Tregs). By targeting Tregs, EGL-003 aims to restore immune balance in inflamed tissues associated with autoimmune disorders. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that EGL-003 increases Treg frequencies in vitro and in animal models, leading to improved clinical outcomes in models of colitis. The drug has shown high selectivity for Tregs using patient-derived cells from various autoimmune diseases and has advanced into IND-enabling studies with plans for a Phase I clinical trial in the second half of 2025[1][3][4][5].
